Maile School Star Grad: Lindsey DeGrie

Maile School Star Grad: Lindsey DeGrie

Maile School graduate Lindsey DeGrie is 17 years old and a junior at Vierra High School. She was accepted into the school’s Digital Arts and Media program.

At a young age Lindsey attended the Young Actors Theater in downtown Indianapolis, and fell in love with the art of acting. Her dad got a job in Orlando and they moved to Melbourne when she was thirteen.

In High School, she joined the Advanced Acting program where she has been in four plays (two of which were lead roles). She has gone to district competition three times and state competition twice winning a total of four Superior medals and three Excellent medals. She recently participated at the State Thespian Festival in Tampa and received a superior medal on her monologue titled Ghosts of Detention.

Some of her resume credits include the new Freddy Kreuger fan trailer Nightmare Return to Elm Street on YouTube (which has over 2 million views), A BMW commercial, and was a music video extra.

Mom, Beth says, “At The Maile School Lindsey fell in love with the way the teachers helped her get a better understanding on the art and helped her in a way no one else could.  Since then, Lindsey has taken the On Camera Adult Acting class, the Adult Improvisation class, and several free seminars they have at the school. If things continue to go well Lindsey might be home schooled next year to have more flexibility for auditions.”

Lindsey is the daughter of Beth & Robert DeGrie of Melbourne.

Lindsey says, she looks forward to a rewarding career in acting and making all who support and believe in her proud.

We are already so proud of you Lindsey!
