Mandy first came out on the scene with her 1999 debut single, “Candy“, which peaked at number 41 on the BillboardHot 100. After signing with Epic Records, she released her first album, So Real and in the year 2000 her single, “I Wanna Be with You“, became her first Top 30 song in the US, peaking at number 24 on the Hot 100 chart.

Outside of her music career, Mandy perused acting and was in films such as Dr. Dolittle 2The Princess Diaries, alongside Anne Hathaway and her first starring role as Jamie Sullivan in the 2002 romantic hit film A Walk to Remember. She also starred in other films, including How to Deal (2003), Chasing Liberty (2004), Saved! (2004) and co-starred in the 2006 comedy American Dreamz.

The following year, Mandy co-starred in the romantic comedies Be cause I Said So and License to Wed. In 2010, she was the voice of Rapunzel in Disney’s animated hit film Tangled, in which she performed the duet “I See the Light” with Zachary Levi; the song won a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media. She later reprised her role in the short film Tangled Ever After, and will do so again on the Disney Channel TV series based on the film in 2017. 

Mandy currently can be seen playing the role of Rebecca on Tuesdays nights in NBC’s popular new show This is Us.  The TV dramedy series is created by Dan Fogelman which and stars Milo VentimigliaSterling K. BrownChrissy MetzJustin HartleySusan Kelechi WatsonChris Sullivan and Ron Cephas Jones.
