It’s Magic for Spencer!

Exciting news from acting graduate Spencer Locke!  Spencer’s newest booking is recording a James Patterson book on tape titled Witch and Wizard which is in production now.  This adventure series centers around a witch named Wisty and a wizard named Whit who are sister and brother.  Whit and Wisty live in a world beyond imagination, where magic is possible and the sinister is real.   Spencer is the witch and Elijah Wood better known as Harry Potter is the wizard.
The tape and book is scheduled to come out Christmas 2009 so be on the look out!
Spencer began her acting career at the age of 8 years old when she enrolled in acting classes at The Maile School.  She immediately began booking television and commercials jobs right here in Central Florida. At the age of 11 years old Spencer and her mom Jayme took off to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams. Within a year's time, she booked a guest starring role on CBS's Without A Trace and a role in Sony Pictures film Spanglish staring Adam Sandler. Shortly there after, Spencer began recurring as Bitsy on the Nickelodeon series Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide.
In 2004, Spencer landed the lead role of Jenny in the Robert Zemeckis, Steven Speilberg and director Gil Kenan Sony Pictures feature film, Monster House.  Stay tuned for more exciting news on Spencer!

Star Talent

Modeling & acting graduate Lissy Stabile will be in a show on September 11th in Port Orange to honor 911 veterans.  She also will be performing at a fund raiser for the Deltona Art Center on September 26th with the Sonic Youth Dancers.  She heads off to the state capital in April 2010 to perform during Children’s Week where she will be singing and dancing to her original songs about child safety.  Be on the look out for Lissy to compete in our talent showcase this October at the Seminole Towne Center.

Graduate Haley Simons was able to put what she learned from her interviewing classes to work. She had an interview with Pageantry Magazine for their Prom issue.  They would only interview girls 5'8" or over.  During the interview, they said the youngest they have ever used was 13 and they have gone to 24.  They interviewed for 3-4 days and only pick 8-9.  Haley was booked as an alternate, which is very impressive for her young age. Haley modeled in our back to school fashion show at the Mall at Millenia this past August.

Graduate Brittany McDaniel is pictured here with Big Vinny from Trailer Choir who has the #18 video on Country Music Television “Rockin the Beer Gut”.  Britt has become good friends with the band, especially Vinny who is like a big brother to her. They have co-written 3 songs together and Brittany has written 20 original songs. Britt spent all summer in Nashville writing and performing music and hopefully one day we will see her on CMT.

Congratulations to Children’s Acting Summer Campers Aliyah and Gabriel Meyer for landing this cool cover for Brevard County Moms like me Magazine. (pictured left)  Aliyah is seven years old and Gabriel is nine years old and they both attend Lake Fern Montessori   School in Titusville.  Even their mom Ginger graced the cover making it a family booking.  Also, Gabriel can be seen on page 17 in a half page ad for Gioia Photography. We look forward to seeing more from both of these talented young actors!

Grad Colleen Trusler landed the role of Amanda in a new drama due to launch on comcast cable at the end of this year. The show is called Life After and this is the blurb about the show that Halogen posted:“Life After” is an original scripted drama following a group of fresh-faced graduates as they get a crash course in the real world. Facing the chaos of job interviews, making a living and falling in love, these friends search for meaning and purpose in a world that’s trying to tear them apart. Ultimately they find that in experiencing life together, they discover who they really are." Check out updates on the show as well as a behind the scenes clip at halogentv.com.
