The Blind Side

Congrats to Acting graduate Paul Amadi for booking a role in the Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros Pictures feature film The Blind Side.

The Blind Side starring Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw and Kathy Bates is a true story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American boy from a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a rich white family who help him succeed.  At the same time, his presence in their lives makes them more aware of self-discoveries of their own. Living in his new environment, the teen faces challenges to overcome. As a football player and student, Oher works hard and, with the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an All-American offensive left tackle. In the latest chapter of his inspiring story, Oher was a first round draft pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, selected by the Baltimore Ravens.

Paul plays the role of Steve Hampton, Oher’s school friend.  He worked with acting coach Ellen Jones to prepare for the audition. (which paid off big time!) Paul and his mom flew to Atlanta Georgia for a month of filming.  The Blind Side opened in theaters November 20th and Paul along with his parents flew to New York for the premiere on November 17th.

Paul has been featured in many other media outlets including being a celebrity guest on the syndicated morning talk show The Daily Buzz.

Paul’s other credits include the Hallmark & CBS movie The Water Is Wide, starring Alfre Woodard and Fantasia Barrino’s: My Life Is Not a Fairytale which was the story of the American Idol winner and aired on the Lifetime Network. His national commercials include Pringles and Nike as well as many other local and regional bookings.

Paul is 18 years old and is a senior at Evans High School. He is the son of Modestus and Rose Amadi.  What a successful year for Paul!
