Star Talent!

Congrats to graduates Nicole Lucas and Steven Arwood for landing print work in the Orlando Home and Leisure Magazine Spring & Summer 2008.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Besides shooting the Orlando Leisure Magazine shoot, (pictured above) Nicole Lucas recently went to NYC to visit Fusion, an agency that has been scouting her for about 6 months.  She was offered a contract, and after a lot of consideration she signed with them.  While in NYC Nicole did a test shoot with Jonathan Leder. (picture right from test shoot) She will be moving to NYC after graduation to pursue modeling since that is what she really loves doing.  Fusion is developing Nicole for NYC fashion week in the fall and plans to send her over-seas in the beginning of 2009.  Nicole will be going to NYC for a few days before graduating to do some more test shoots!  We are very excited for Nicole and can’t wait to hear what happens next for this top model!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Exciting news from graduate Jessica Lonardo. She booked and filmed a principal role for a Busch Gardens commercial for Jungala and filmed a principal role in a commercial for Twinrix (which is a vaccine for hepatitis)! She will be on the cover in print work for Tupperware’s summer catalog and appear as a princess singer/dancer in a commercial for Kidz Club Studios which will be shown on the Cartoon Network.  She shot some B roll work for the Home Shopping Network demonstrating planting a strawberry plant. Mom says, “This has been a very exciting and busy past few months for Jessica and it all started at The Maile School where she took her first classes in commercial acting!”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since January 2008 Acting graduate and Image Fitness Instructor Carlos Jackson booked jobs with Marriott, Food Club, Price Cooper Waterhouse, Dicks Sporting Goods, and Castle Beer.  He also played the lead role in the independent film, “Innemy” and booked several stilt walking events including one for the city of Cocoa Beach.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Congrats to graduate Brittany McDaniel for singing the National Anthem at the Orlando Magic Game. Luckily the magic won! She is still working on her CD and hoping to move to Nashville in the near future. Brittany will be the opening act at our back to school fashion show.  So if you want to catch a glimpse of her performance, come to the Seminole Towne Center on Saturday July 26th at 1:00pm.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------School Owner/President Debbie Wisner received a nice email from Doug Gordon,  Producer/Writer
National Lampoon Robodoc:

“I remember the beginning of our first table read. The LA actors had no idea what to expect from a shoot in Orlando.  They were on one side of the table and the local actors were on the other. Two hours later, by the end of the table read, they were easily interacting with one another in an atmosphere of comradery and mutual respect. After the table read the LA actors told me they were very impressed at the level of talent we have here in Orlando.  Many months later, after post production and viewing the performances of our actors in the finished movie, I agree.  I am very impressed with the level of talent we have here in Orlando Thanks for providing some of our high quality local talent.”
Maile students featured in Robodoc:
Shelitta Boxie, Andrea Faustino, Cree Ivey, Kristia Knowles (pictured above), Raven Krogstad, Kirk Krogstad, Anthony Lamela, Jacob McEwen, Evangeline Rockburn, Justin Smith, Michael Winslow, & John Weyrick
