The Young Performers Group

The Maile School along with acting instructor and talent manager Sheri Kebbel have created a new program designed for the young working actor.  We recognize the importance of providing a creative, inspiring, and challenging environment for professional young actors to continuously work on their craft!            The Young Performers Group (YPG) meets every Tuesday from 4:30-7:30 where they work on things such as Audition Scripts, Monologues, Scene Study, Intense Character Process, Guest Industry Speakers and Teachers.  Performers will take field trips through out the area  to places such as SAK Comedy Theater, Shakespeare Theater, Production Sites, Film Schools, and other Industry venues.  All students will also have the opportunity to showcase their work for LA Casting Directors.
The YPG started up in May of this year and its founding members include: Travis Nin, Noah Schnacky, Brady Reiter, Cree Ivy, Dorian Cantor, Aubrey Peeples, Anthony Lamela, Austin Abramhs, Partick Hoover, Sarah Sculco, Harrison Boxley, Ophelia Boxley, Michael Furbush and McKenzie Vanderberg.
The requirements to audition for this elite group include completion of Sheri’s Advanced Level 2 Acting and actors must be represented by an agent.  At your audition you will need to prepare a monologue, complete a cold read and an on camera interview.   If you are interested in joining YPG the next audition will be held on Friday September 5th between 4pm to 7pm. Please call Jennifer Wisner to set up a private audition time.

Pictured above is YPG with actors Arnie Pantoja and Andrew Matthews. Arnie starred in the feature films "Sydney White and the Seven Dorks" as the dopey George; "Nat'l Lampoon presents Robodoc" as Dr. Keefe; and in the soon to be released "Hamlet 2".   Andrew Matthews has a starring role in the Sundance Film entry "Print".

Words of  Wisdom from

Arielle Kebbel’s Super Star Workshop was a huge success.  Her hands on workshop gave students an opportunity to meet and train with a highly successful actress who we are proud to call a Maile School Alumni.

Not only did Arielle’s workshop help students enhance their acting, it was also an opportunity for them to give back to the community by donating blankets for the Project Linus Foundation. The Project Linus Foundation’s mission  is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” Thanks to everyone who donated. For more info on this wonderful foundation visit projectlinus.org.
Also thank you to Jay Boyar from Orlando Magazine who sat in on one of the workshops. Be on the lookout for Jay’s article featuring Arielle in an upcoming issue of Orlando Magazine.
