Setting Goals
Goal setting is a hugely powerful technique that can yield strong returns
in all areas of your life. It’s like drawing a map from where you are to where
you’d like to be, and like a map, it helps to guide
you there.
At its simplest level, the process of setting goals allows you to choose where
you want to go in life! By knowing what you want to achieve, you know what you
have to concentrate on and improve, and also helps to identify distractions.
Goal setting gives you long-term vision and short-term motivation.
By setting sharp, clearly defined goals, you can measure and take pride in the
achievement of those goals. A good practice is to review your goals weekly so
you can acknowledge the successful progress and re-make goals if they are not
working. Basically, it helps you see forward progress in what might previously
have seemed a long pointless grind.
By setting goals you can:
• Achieve more
• Improve performance
• Improve the quality of your training
• Increase your motivation to achieve
• Increase your pride and satisfaction in your performance
• Improve your self-confidence
10 TIPS ON DEVELOPING YOUR PERSONAL
IMAGE:
Tip 1 -
Nothing looks as good as self-confidence. People will notice your smile before
your clothing.
Tip 2 - Stick to an image that you can pull off well. Develop
your own personal brand of style.
Tip 3 -
Your body language is key to creating a positive
impact. Get rid of any distracting or bad gestures.
Tip 4 -
Wear clothes that fit. No matter how expensive your jeans, if
they don't fit the look is ruined.
Tip 5 -
Take constructive criticism and listen. People care about you, which means they want to see you look fabulous.
Tip 6 - Colors are a beautiful
thing. Don’t be afraid to try colors that you normally don’t wear. Get a little
bold.
Tip 7 -
Don't neglect the basics. You can't have a strong closet without the key
essentials, such as a great dress, pants, and a classic jacket.
Tip 8 -
The trendiest clothing doesn't always equal the most flattering. We all love a
great fad to make us feel accepted but don't let these dominate your wardrobe.
Tip 9 -
Be your own personal valet. Good grooming and cleanliness is the mainstay of a
positive impression. Is your hair freshly groomed? People really do notice the
little things.
Tip 10 -
Being consistent is crucial. If you don’t have consistency, you will not come
across as sincere which is important in establishing your personal brand.
Always remember that if
you feel good about yourself
and your appearance, you will project a positive image to the
world. Everything you think, do or feel has an impact, positive or negative, on
the persona you show those around you. As you continue to create and promote
your work, don’t forget to spend dedicated time on developing and perfecting
your personal image. It needs to be part of your marketing plan, as well. Your
image…your personal brand is everything!
