Spring Forward with Sheri!

Acting instructor Sheri Kebbel has been keeping busy.  She was an Executive Producer of the feature film comedy “Robodoc” which was locally produced through Gordon-Tynes Productions and will be nationally distributed through National Lampoon. Sheri is the co-owner of “Mosaic Talent Development”.  She works with children and teen actors who want to have success in the Central Florida entertainment industry prior to introducing them to the LA market.  She has been invited to production sets and filming of “The Grudge 2” in Tokyo, Japan; “John Tucker Must Die” in Vancouver, Canada; “Outlaw Trail, Sundance, Utah; “Be Cool”, “Soul Plane”, “American Pie Band Camp”, “Gilmore Girls”, “Grounded for Life”, and “The Kid & I” which were all shot in Los Angeles.  Arielle Kebbel, Sheri’s daughter, starred in many of these productions.  She has also met the awesome VJ’s of MTV’s TRL in New York City when Arielle and the rest of the cast of “John Tucker Must Die” were guests.

Sheri has managed and overseen the acting careers of all three of her children while they lived in Florida. Sheri brings her talents to our school in the children’s acting and teen acting programs as well as the advanced level programs.  She is now offering a special Children/Teen Advanced Acting Level 2 class where students will work on improvisation, character development and scene study.

Sheri has made numerous trips to LA and each time has gathered scripts and scenes from films and TV shows that kids and teens will love performing in her classes!  In the final showcase of the Children/Teen Advanced Acting Level 2 class, all students will have the opportunity to perform and be individually critiqued by a casting director.

Star Talent!

Great News from teen graduate Morgan Craven she booked the principal role of "Gigi" in Scouts Honor.  This is a full length family film and began shooting on March 26thFor more information on the film you can visit www.scoutshonorthemovie.com  She also was a featured extra in a Starz Cable by direct TV commercial.  She had principal roles in a Home Discovery commercial and shot a training video for AWANA.   She recently booked a Brighthouse commercial for the YMCA – which begins shooting in the next few weeks.

Acting graduate Mark DeFillipo booked commercials for Sky Angel (cellular phones) & 4 X Trading.  He landed a TV spot for Super Sleuths on the Discovery Channel that aired all over the world where he played Detective Kendall.  Mark says, he stays busy getting a lot of calls and auditioning non stop.  The easiest job Mark says he ever booked paid $400 an hour for Park Square Homes where all he did was stand and hold a glass of wine.  Mark is a business owner for a contracting company and his flexibility allows him to continue to pursue this industry!

Acting Instructor Kevin O’Neill stays busy not only teaching but booking work as an actor himself!  Below is a link to the trailer of a new feature film he is in.  It is called Second Coming and is produced by the same talented people who created Delivery which was also shot last year.  Kevin plays the role of Father Lay, a priest who is from the past of the lead actress.  Please watch the trailer and let us know what you think.

Be on the look out for advanced acting and modeling graduate Izayah Thorb to hype the new “Sponge Bob” show called “Friend or Foe” on the Nickelodeon station.  The show is scheduled to air on Friday April 13th from 4:55pm to 8:30pm. He will be seen on several of the 5 challenges!  What an awesome job to land for Nickelodeon.  He also shot a music video that is on YouTube which is now airing.

AUDITIONING TIPS:

Auditioning can be stressful, but it's the best way to find work in theater, film and commercials. Here are some helpful hints when heading out for an audition.

Arrive at least 15 minutes early. You do not want to rush into your audition. Give yourself time to find the space and warm up.

Pack your bag with a book, magazine, bottle of water, or  an ipod in case there is waiting.

Be nice to everybody. You never know if the person you are speaking to is part of the audition.

There may be several people waiting with you to audition. Remember that they are competing with you for the same job. Don't let them intimidate you.

Wear neat, comfortable clothing that is appropriate.

Have Fun and Good Luck!
