Broadway Baby
Congratulations to Modeling and Acting
graduate, Amanda Balon, for booking a lead role in
the national tour of the Broadway hit, Annie! Amanda will be playing the lead role of
“Molly” in the production. Way to go,
Amanda!
Eight-year-old Amanda made her first
on-stage appearance at the young age of three, and has been performing ever
since as a vocalist, dancer and actress (both in theater and film). Last year she won 1st place (and
16 medals!) at the World Performing Arts Olympics in the vocal, dance, acting
and modeling categories, ultimately earning the title of “Champion Performer of
the World.” Some of Amanda’s acting
credits include Annie (Molly/Duffy), Annie Jnr (Annie), Sound of Music (Gretel), Kittens/Cats Jnr (Rumpelteaser), The Grinch (Cindy-Lou), Honk Jnr (Ida),
Peter Pan (Tinkerbell), A Christmas Carol (Belinda Cratchitt) and Gypsy (Baby
June).
Amanda wants to thank her mom, dad, twin
brother Nick, sister, Sam, her coaches, friends and teachers, for their
never-ending help and support. Amanda
gives all the glory to God for the talent He has given her, and for all the blessings and doors that He has opened for her.
After her contract is up with Annie, Amanda
is booked for a role in the touring musical, Mary Poppins. We’re so proud of you, Amanda! We can’t wait to see what your future holds!

Joy is no stranger to the
world of acting! Over the past few years
she’s done a Buick commercial with Tiger Woods, and a Papa John’s commercial
with Dan Marino and the founder of Papa John’s. Joy acted in leading roles for two independent films: A Bright Star and Needy Life. She also shot an
episode of Showtime’s The L Word, which can be seen on the season two
DVD.
Congratulations on all your successes,
Joy! Good luck, and keep us posted on
your future endeavors!
