SCHOOL NEWS May 2005 No Laughing Matter! Spencer Locke received some great news from the WB last week! She’s been chosen to star in Camryn Manheim’s new WB comedy series (which is so new it has yet to be named!). Golden Globe award winner, Camryn Manheim (The Practice & The L Word), will be starring in the series as an eccentric, financially challenged, single mother of three. Spencer will be playing the oldest daughter, Crosby, who is obsessed with “name brand” clothes. The storyline revolves around the family’s relocation into a new, upscale neighborhood that is overrun with trendy soccer moms. Spencer was very excited to get to read with Camryn and the producer during her audition. Her first day of shooting was on April 18th, in front of a live audience, and Spencer loved every minute of it! We’re so proud of you, Spencer! Ana was President of the local affiliate Hairdressers Association, and frequently holds seminars for major companies, including Ivanhoe Broadcast News and the Female Doctors’ Association. Ana also owns a full-service salon, Essence Salon & Day Spa, which has been featured in the Orlando Sentinel. It will find solutions when none are apparent, and it will achieve success where none is thought possible.” In The News! Keep your eyes open for country band Trick Pony’s new music video, which can now be seen on CMT. It features our very own Stephanie Rae as the female lead! Stephanie has also filmed a SAG film in Tampa called Desconso’s, and a CBS Movie of the Week with Lucy Lawless (Xena) called Locust. Way to go, Stephanie! You may have spotted graduate and instructor Justin Smith’s “Movie News” segment on the WB morning show, The Daily Buzz. Justin was flown to LA to interview Ashton Kutcher about his new movie, A Lot Like Love. Justin also got to interview John Malkovich about his upcoming film, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and Paris Hilton and Chad Michael Murray for their movie, House of Wax. Congrats, Justin!
